Course Catalog Description: Ethics In Turbulent Times. We are now emerging from the greatest financial meltdown of our age precipitated by the mortgage crisis. While the circumstances are somewhat different now than the scandals that led to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the questions are the same. How did American business get to this point? What are we going to do about it? What does it mean to the accounting profession? Where do we go from here? Are even more rules and regulations the answer? In this webcast participants will gain a better understanding of how we got into today’s economic mess and what it means for the accounting profession. Participants will also learn how to think about ethics in broader terms than just accounting or auditing standards. “Rules alone are not the answer. We must also consider human nature.” Good ethics equals good business and survival in today’s bleak economy.
